Annual Congress, and Fund-Raising Dinner and Dance

Fellow Mawulians:
The 2011 OMSU-NA Congress will be held in Plantation, Florida during the US Memorial Day Weekend from May 27 through May 30, 2011. The 60th Anniversary celebrations of Mawuli School will basically continue in Florida in May 2011. Please mark your calendars accordingly and keep those dates open on your schedule for our dear Mawuli School. All Mawulians across the world and sympathizers of Mawuli School are cordially invited.

Events: The weekend’s events will flow in the following order:

a)     Friday, May 27, 2011 at 7pm – 12 midnight – Evening Reception at the residence of OMSU-NA Secretary, Divine Amoah.

b)     Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 9am – OMSU-NA Annual  Business Meeting at the hotel where the Congress will be held.   

c)     Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 7pm – 2am – Fundraising Dinner and Dance at a facility near the hotel of the Congress.

d)     Sunday, May 29, 2011 at 11am - Picnic/Cookout on the Ft Lauderdale beach (please see below).

e)     Evening of Sunday, May 29, 2011 – Party continues at the residence of Divine and Nobuko Amoah!

Hotel where Congress will be held: The Holiday Inn Express at Plantation, Florida.

Room rate: $65.00 per night single/double. Rate includes hot breakfast.

A Picnic Site (two pavilions) has been reserved for the whole day Sunday at Hugh Taylor State Park on the Ft. Lauderdale beach.

Hotel Booking: Individuals can make their reservations (please mention OMSUNA Reunion) directly by calling 954-472-5600 or 1-800-465-4329. Group rates are available two days prior and post the scheduled dates

Travel Information:

1. Fort Lauderdale -Hollywood International Airport (FLL) will be the airport of choice, about 10 minutes to all activity areas. Airlines are Jet Blue, Southwest, Continental, AA, etc.

2. Miami International Airport (MIA) will be a distant second choice, its about 35-60 minutes of travel time depending on traffic. Airlines: All major airlines.
